I just wanted to say once again how grateful we are for your support of Emma and all the kindness that you have shown her. Emma has always looked forward to her lessons with you and found them both fun and engaging. You have made a difference with her approach and confidence to her work and with her overall self-belief. You are a special tutor, and we have been so lucky to have found you. The teenage years are difficult, full of challenges and there is a lot of work involved in A levels. Emma has really valued your input during this part of her life and she is even more focused on her future and determined to find an interesting and fulfilling pathway ahead. Thank you, Frances. Wishing you good health and happiness for 2023. Kind regards Denise. Mrs D Phillips

Francis is a highly productive tutor and got my 12 year-old boy on the right track after tremendous efforts. My son has been learning pretty much within a very short period of time. We hope to come back to him as soon as possible after a break. Mrs Barton

My daughter enjoys her lessons with Mrs Blaseby and finds her style of teaching engaging. She has acquired a depth of knowledge about the Tudors which will stand her in good stead for her A level and we are delighted with her progress. Mrs Maria Quantrill

Excellent Teacher. Helped my daughter immensely, by getting her ready and prepared for her A level Classics exams. My daughter was much more confident going into her exam. Thank you ☺️ Mrs Rose

Lynda has been my Latin tutor for about 2 years. To begin with I was studying Latin out of interest but Lynda encouraged me to aim for a GCSE which I am pleased to say, with her help, I achieved this summer getting a high grade, despite being well into my seventies! Lynda is an excellent tutor. She has a life-time's experience both as a teacher and examiner in classics. She makes learning Latin interesting while at the same time laying the foundations for a good qualification. Revd Dr Yates Dr Yates

Lynda is an absolute gem. Her knowledge is phenomenal, both in literature and in language. Her ability to scan is something I have never seen before. I came to Lynda a few months before my OCR A Level Latin exam due to help needed because of teacher changes in year 13 and health issues. Lynda quickly understood my situation and provided me with invaluable advice about exam technique, due to the fact that Lynda is an examiner and has been one since 1997. Her advice on studying methods was very precious as well. Lynda was extremely approachable and was able to help with last-minute answers even days before my exams! Moreover she was very friendly and made me laugh and always cheered me up when I started to stress. I really enjoyed my lessons with her, which we did as video calls. They were the best thing about my A-Level Latin revision! Mr Wright

We contacted Gabriella 9 months ago for Latin tuition for my 15 year-old daughter. Gabriella responded within 24 hours and we were able to make arrangements to start lessons very quickly. As my daughter was learning Latin at home (and not being taught at school) Gabriella adapted her approach to broaden and enrich my daughter's learning, filling in the gaps and completing the GCSE curriculum. I found Gabriella a real pleasure to communicate with. Her care and consideration for my daughter's GCSE school workload was excellent and realistic, and has resulted in us looking at ways she can take Latin GCSE indecently of school after her GCSEs are completed. My daughter has really enjoyed learning with Gabriella and looked forward to her zoom lesson each week. It was easy to make contact if we needed to rearrange the lesson time, and payment was straightforward. I am really happy to recommend Gabriella wholeheartedly. We feel very lucky to have found her. Mrs Jo Saunders

Cecilia is an excellent teacher and I would thoroughly recommend her. She provides interesting subjects for discussion and her lessons are always informative. Mrs Havers

Catherine has been tutoring our son, who is aged 17. She has been professional throughout, encouraging independent thinking, learning and self-motivation. She has excellent communication skills and is very reliable and approachable. Kate Bland

Your support has been invaluable. We are hugely grateful Dr Sonia M

Louisa is an amazing teacher. My child has selective mutism and cerebral palsy. My child finds it difficult to interact with others, but Lousia found a way to engage with him and is helping him achieve so much after the first lesson. I am so excited to continue further with the lessons. Miss Khaliq

Location
Home Tuition: Involves an A-Level Latin tutor coming to your home to provide one-on-one instruction. This offers convenience as you don't need to travel. Online Tuition: This can take place anywhere with an internet connection. Small Group Tuition: Typically with between 2 to 4 children, and often occurs in a physical location such as your home, though it can also be online.

Individual Attention
Home Tuition: Offers the highest level of individual attention, as the A-Level Latin tutor focuses solely on one student. Online Tuition: Still allows for one-to-one attention, but it may be slightly less personal than home tuition due to potential distractions. Small Group Tuition: Offers less individual attention as the A-Level Latin tutor must divide their time and attention among multiple students.

Cost
Home Tuition: This tends to be more expensive because it involves one-on-one teaching, and the A-Level Latin tutor is required to travel to your home. Online Tuition: Often more affordable than home tuition as your A-Level Latin tutor does not need to travel but may still cost more than small group tuition. Small Group Tuition: Generally, this is the most cost-effective option, as the costs are shared among several families.

Flexibility
Home Tuition: Offers flexibility in terms of scheduling and curriculum, as your A-Level Latin tutor will only be working with your child. Online Tuition: Provides flexibility in terms of location and may offer a wider selection of A-Level Latin tutors. Small Group Tuition: Lessons will be more difficult to schedule as lesson times will have to fit in with other families.

Interaction
Home Tuition: Offers in-person interaction, which can be beneficial for students who learn better through face-to-face communication. Online Tuition: Provides interaction through video conferencing tools and chat, which can be engaging but may not suit everyone's learning style. Small Group Tuition: Allows for peer interaction, which can benefit collaborative learning and discussions.

The choice between home, online, or small group A-Level Latin tuition depends on your preferences, budget, and the student's specific educational needs. Each option has advantages and disadvantages, so it's essential to consider these factors when deciding.
