Hayley is a fantastic communicator, and her replies are always prompt. She explains ideas really well and engages consistently in every session. I would highly recommend her, particularly if you have any English queries. Simran C

I recently had the pleasure of working with Miss Hayley P on Sherpa and I am extremely satisfied with my experience so far. She is a highly skilled and dedicated tutor who has helped me improve my techniques in analyzing poems for my English GCSE this summer. Her deep understanding of poetry analysis and effective teaching methods made complex concepts easy to grasp. I highly recommend her to anyone who is seeking tutoring for English Literature. Lina N

I just wanted to say once again how grateful we are for your support of Emma and all the kindness that you have shown her. Emma has always looked forward to her lessons with you and found them both fun and engaging. You have made a difference with her approach and confidence to her work and with her overall self-belief. You are a special tutor, and we have been so lucky to have found you. The teenage years are difficult, full of challenges and there is a lot of work involved in A levels. Emma has really valued your input during this part of her life and she is even more focused on her future and determined to find an interesting and fulfilling pathway ahead. Thank you, Frances. Wishing you good health and happiness for 2023. Kind regards Denise. Mrs D Phillips

Francis is a highly productive tutor and got my 12 year-old boy on the right track after tremendous efforts. My son has been learning pretty much within a very short period of time. We hope to come back to him as soon as possible after a break. Mrs Barton

Great tutor, helped my son immensely with his English as he had fallen woefully behind post covid. Now he's so much more confident in the subject thanks to Jeff! Mrs Chettra-mann

My dughter is currenntly being tutored by Jeff through her A level in English Literature (aiming for A*). Jeff is a brilliant tutor, who is always well prepared for the lesson, thinking and planning ahead and open for questions from students and parents. What I (as a parent) like most is the fact that Jeff knows how to challenge my daughter so she can reach her potential. I was very impressed by the first lesson's assesment which Jeff prepared for her, (not taking my assesment for granted), and his detailed feedback. I truly recommend Jeff as a tutor. Mrs Kopacz

Patient with structured approach. Mr Wellappili

Susan is a great teacher. She helped my daughter prepare for her GCSE exams both for language and literature. She was really dedicated and spared nothing to give the highest level of care. I strongly recommend her. Dr Elmeshad

My son failed English twice and having been in-between schools and doing his GCSEs in COVID he struggled with focus. Anastasia was positive and encouraging, she was honest with him had us when he lost focus. He had work set for him to practice the structure of his questions. This was his forth time and it was really important that he passed. Not only did he pass he gained a higher grade then he expected. Thank you we highly recommend Anastasia Mr Newbolt

Anastasia is a wonderful tutor, she is patient kind and encouraging. She helped my daughter find her confidence and belief in herself. We can't recommend her highly enough. Mrs Butterworth

I have always struggled with English - it was always my worst subject, so it was where I got my lowest grades and had the lowest motivation. But closer towards the exams, I decided to suddenly reach out and get help, and I wasn't sure it would make a difference. However, after every single lesson with Shelley, my nerves were calmer, and I really felt ready and actually enjoyed it. Amazingly, because of Shelley, I went from barely a 6 to a 9 in English Lit, only losing 20 marks across the whole paper! Would recommend highly. Aleesa Mehmud

I really ï>>¿recommend Shelley as an English tutor. I thoroughly enjoyed our lessons and looked forward to them every week. Shelley was very detailed and comprehensive with her explanations. She ensured I understood the topics fully and thanks to her support, I achieved a grade 9 in English literature. Thank you Shelley! Aalisha H

My son has made good progress on his writing techniques since Micheal has been teaching him. Michael is a very good communicator as well, which is very helpful to fit my son's busy schedules with sports commitments. We are very happy with him. Sanae

Michael is an excellent tutor. I am very happy we chose him to tutor my son. He really does know his subject well. He has taught my son excellent exam techniques and boosted his confidence. Thanks, Michael Louisa

Ms Mallett has been fantastic to my son and even though my son had to learn all UK school system because we moved from overseas, he caught up with his English quite quickly. He enjoyed every lesson with her and he is now above average in his class. I believe he is fine from here. I have already spoken with Ms Mallett and she supports our decision. I would like to take this opportunity to say tho you for helping my son. Ms Yamada

Thanks, Julia, for being a truly wondrous A-Level English Literature tutor - you gave me the belief and confidence to keep trying and delivered my A* when my teachers thought I'd get a C at best! Our sessions were always jam-packed with knowledge, insight and useful tips and presented just perfectly for me. Thank you. (Ed - student) Thank you, Julia, for your enthusiasm, passion and great skill in tutoring Edward in the run-up to his English Literature A-Level exam. Your efforts were transformative in his attainment and, importantly, in his self-belief and confidence. Edward was always buoyed by the level of detail in your sessions, which he described as 'immensely useful and totally progressive'. Your support, communication and organisation were a great comfort to me as a parent too, and the payment platform was easy to use. Mrs T

Location
Home Tuition: Involves an A-Level English tutor coming to your home to provide one-on-one instruction. This offers convenience as you don't need to travel. Online Tuition: This can take place anywhere with an internet connection. Small Group Tuition: Typically with between 2 to 4 children, and often occurs in a physical location such as your home, though it can also be online.

Individual Attention
Home Tuition: Offers the highest level of individual attention, as the A-Level English tutor focuses solely on one student. Online Tuition: Still allows for one-to-one attention, but it may be slightly less personal than home tuition due to potential distractions. Small Group Tuition: Offers less individual attention as the A-Level English tutor must divide their time and attention among multiple students.

Cost
Home Tuition: This tends to be more expensive because it involves one-on-one teaching, and the A-Level English tutor is required to travel to your home. Online Tuition: Often more affordable than home tuition as your A-Level English tutor does not need to travel but may still cost more than small group tuition. Small Group Tuition: Generally, this is the most cost-effective option, as the costs are shared among several families.

Flexibility
Home Tuition: Offers flexibility in terms of scheduling and curriculum, as your A-Level English tutor will only be working with your child. Online Tuition: Provides flexibility in terms of location and may offer a wider selection of A-Level English tutors. Small Group Tuition: Lessons will be more difficult to schedule as lesson times will have to fit in with other families.

Interaction
Home Tuition: Offers in-person interaction, which can be beneficial for students who learn better through face-to-face communication. Online Tuition: Provides interaction through video conferencing tools and chat, which can be engaging but may not suit everyone's learning style. Small Group Tuition: Allows for peer interaction, which can benefit collaborative learning and discussions.

The choice between home, online, or small group A-Level English tuition depends on your preferences, budget, and the student's specific educational needs. Each option has advantages and disadvantages, so it's essential to consider these factors when deciding.
