Reviews for Religious Studies Tutors

5.0

Mrs Sarah Phelan - Alistair is providing 11+ tuition to my daughter. He carefully tailors his lesson taking account of her dyslexia diagnosis and recommendations made in her diagnostic report. The tuition is contributing to boosting her confidence as well as making a positive impact to her attainment at School. Importantly Alistair recognises the need to not dumb her lessons down because in fact she is incredibly bright and thus she needs to be stimulated. I'm so pleased I found Alistair through TTYH.

Sukhdip Rai - I would recommend Alistair to any parent looking to improve their child's performance in all areas. Alistair helped my son improve his Maths and move up to a higher set at school in a matter of two months! Alistair goes the extra mile and will always help with anything. We feel very lucky to have such a intelligent and caring tutor!

Deborah - Alison helped my 15-year-old son through some difficult educational issues with pleasing and positive results, which in turn helped his confidence and self-esteem.

Mr Major - Fantastic intro session, son really loved it.

Mrs Amanda Watkins (mills) - I can highly recommend Ben as a tutor for your child. Ben has been tutoring my daughter in PET (Philosophy, Ethics, Theology) and also helped her with her EPQ. Ben's attitude is friendly and supportive and has helped my daughter get into her first choice, Russell Group University. Thank you Ben!

Neve (student, Philoosphy And Ethics) - You were a great teacher and definitely made a big effort to work in my style as someone with autism and teach me in a way that I needed. The I'd give you 10/10!

Ms Yoda - James was excellent with my son, who had begun to struggle with Level 2 Latin. He has a strong command of the subject and a clear understanding of what is required for Common Entrance preparation. His teaching style is methodical, structured, and easy to follow, which has made a real difference to my son's confidence and progress. I would highly recommend him.

Miss K Devlin - Oonagh was fantastic with my son. Understanding and patient and brought a wealth of different strategies.

Kate Bland - Catherine has been tutoring our son, who is aged 17. She has been professional throughout, encouraging independent thinking, learning and self-motivation. She has excellent communication skills and is very reliable and approachable.

Mr And Mrs Sola - We first approached Anna when we were looking for advice on how to support our 10-year-old son, who has ADHD and Anxiety Disorder. From the outset, we felt comfortable with Anna. Not only did she listen to us, but she understood and empathised with what we were hoping to achieve, and she respected and acknowledged our concerns. Her manner and suggested approach were ideally aligned with our situation and struck a perfect balance in terms of pace and engagement with our son. However, none of this would have mattered if our son would not accept her. From her first interaction with him, we realised we had nothing to worry about. He instinctively trusted her and responded open to her engagement, listening to what she asked of him and reacting positively to her praise and encouragement. Over the last four months, Anna has built up a rapport with our son built on a foundation of mutual respect and trust. She has a way of helping him to do what he needs to do in a way that avoids confrontation and conflict, reinforces positive learning, and builds up his confidence. This does not mean she does not say 'no' or lets him get away with messing around. It is just that she couches that control and discipline in a way that builds trust and engagement rather than one built on hierarchy and punishment. We cannot recommend Anna highly enough. She has a wealth of experience and expertise but is humble and questioning. More than that, it is crystal clear that her primary aim is to help develop our son and help him achieve his full potential. Put simply, if you are considering additional learning support for a SEND child, you should ask for a meeting with Anna. She is simply superb at what she does, and we are so grateful we found her.

Mrs J Cross - Nick Williams did an excellent job in preparing my eldest child for their scholarship and my youngest with their 11+.

Mrs S Friend - Nick provided my eldest with much needed support through their GCSE preparation with his excellent knowledge and empathetic teaching style.

Mariam - Brilliant lesson, you make it look so easy. Thank you.

Sabrina - Fitzroy is a very great teacher! Very nice with children! My son is 11 years old, and he always wants to do lessons with Fitz! He's improving his English. Thanks Fitz!!! Best wishes, Sabrina and Leonardo.

Katie H - Tim is great. He is teaching our daughter RPE. He is kind, patient, knowledgeable and professional. Can recommend.

Location
Online Tuition: Involves a Religious Studies tutor on the platform of your choice to provide one-on-one instruction. This offers convenience as you don't need to travel. This can take place anywhere with an internet connection. Small Group Tuition: Typically with between 2 to 4 children, and often occurs in a physical location such as your home, though it can also be online.

Individual Attention
Online Tuition: Allows for one-to-one attention, but it may be slightly less personal than home tuition due to potential distractions. Small Group Tuition: Offers less individual attention as the Religious Studies tutor must divide their time and attention among multiple students.

Cost
Online Tuition: Often more affordable than home tuition as your Religious Studies tutor does not need to travel but may still cost more than small group tuition. Small Group Tuition: Generally, this is the most cost-effective option, as the costs are shared among several families.

Flexibility
Online Tuition: Provides flexibility in terms of location and may offer a wider selection of Religious Studies tutors. Small Group Tuition: Lessons will be more difficult to schedule as lesson times will have to fit in with other families.

Interaction
Online Tuition: Provides interaction through video conferencing tools and chat, which can be engaging but may not suit everyone's learning style. Small Group Tuition: Allows for peer interaction, which can benefit collaborative learning and discussions.

The choice between online, or small group Religious Studies tuition depends on your preferences, budget, and the student's specific educational needs. Each option has advantages and disadvantages, so it's essential to consider these factors when deciding.
