An incredible teacher. Learning Italian from Olga is so much fun, feels relaxed and you learn so much. Not only is Olga so lovely, happy and friendly, she also has great resources, prepared presentations, book recommendations and homework. Finding the right tutor is hard, it's finding a mix of them having the right skills in the subjects (or multiple subjects) the student needs help with, building a rapor so that your child feels comfortable with them, have a good working relationship and of course so that your child does well and improves in those subjects. Caroline smashed it, my son Kieran enjoys learning with Caroline in both geography and maths, he had improved loads where he has achieved better grades and gone up sets. Caroline is teaching my 15yr old daughter maths. My daughter struggles considerably however Caroline has come in with patience, calm and genuine kindness when teaching her and after just a few lessons we can see an improvement in both my daughters maths skills and her confidence. I have been taking lessons with Carmela for almost a year and feel that I have learned a great deal. Carmela paces the lessons very well, and there is an excellent balance of language learning, including reading and listening comprehension, grammar, writing and speaking. As a native speaker, Carmela is able to discuss the nuances of language use and provides really interesting insights into Italian culture. She constantly challenges me but is also encouraging, especially when I become frustrated with myself! Carmela is happy to focus on particular aspects or topics when appropriate or requested. So, for example, before going to Sardinia with my family last year, we practised useful vocabulary and phrases when ordering in a restaurant. The flexibility and focus of one-to-one lessons mean that progress is much faster and motivation remains high. Carmela is a true linguist and lover of languages and that shines through. I started Italian lessons with Carmela as an adult learner. I need to do an aptitude test for nationality eventually so it was important that I find the right teacher. Carmela has been great- her teaching method is clear and concise. She is always happy to stop and answer the many questions I have even when I go off-piste into something that's not part of the lesson. I particularly appreciate the recap notes of the lesson that she immediately send over after the lesson is done. She also puts homework on google classroom which helps in keeping everything organised. She is also very patient which is very important in a tutor. We contacted Gabriella 9 months ago for Latin tuition for my 15 year-old daughter. Gabriella responded within 24 hours and we were able to make arrangements to start lessons very quickly. As my daughter was learning Latin at home (and not being taught at school) Gabriella adapted her approach to broaden and enrich my daughter's learning, filling in the gaps and completing the GCSE curriculum. I found Gabriella a real pleasure to communicate with. Her care and consideration for my daughter's GCSE school workload was excellent and realistic, and has resulted in us looking at ways she can take Latin GCSE indecently of school after her GCSEs are completed. My daughter has really enjoyed learning with Gabriella and looked forward to her zoom lesson each week. Italian Language Tuition

Italian is not only the official language of Italy, but also one of the four official languages spoken in Switzerland. It is also widely spoken in Croatia, Slovenia and the French island of Corsica; and is surprisingly the second most popular language spoken in Argentina. With its roots firmly in ancient Latin it is classed as one of the Romance languages, like French, Portuguese and Spanish. Italian shares a high degree of grammatical commonality with those languages, and many similar words.

GCSE Italian Tuition

As with other Modern Foreign Language courses, the focus when studying Italian at Key Stage 4 is to gain a good understanding of the spoken and written language, starting with the basics of pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary. Whilst developing their language skills, the GCSE syllabus encourages students to expand their cultural knowledge of Italy, covering day-to-day life, food, travel, family, and hobbies etc. Additional topics include technology, and social and global issues, like the environment and healthy living. By the end of the syllabus students should be able to competently express themselves in conversations and discussions, making good use of grammatical structures, and a wide vocabulary, and with accurate pronunciation that would be understood by a native speaker.

A-Level Italian Tuition

When moving on to Italian A-Level, students are required to further expand their spoken and written skills and begin to discover the rich world of Italian literature, whilst further developing their understanding of Italy's culture and history. The A-Level syllabus also includes covering a topic or research project that will form the basis of an essay in the final written exam. This is usually on one of the following subjects: lifestyles, youth or Italian culture, travel and tourism, or education and employment. Gaining an A-Level in Italian is obviously an ideal option for those wishing to read languages at university, or keen to visit and explore the country for work or pleasure. However, many university courses in other disciplines, including Music, Art History, and Archaeology, can also become far more accessible and rewarding to students with an A-Level in Italian.

Online Tuition: Still allows for one-to-one attention, but it may be slightly less personal than home tuition due to potential distractions. Small Group Tuition: Offers less individual attention as the Italian tutor must divide their time and attention among multiple students.

Home Tuition: This tends to be more expensive because it involves one-on-one teaching, and the Italian tutor is required to travel to your home. Online Tuition: Often more affordable than home tuition as your Italian tutor does not need to travel but may still cost more than small group tuition.
