Alan provided French tuition to my son weekly for a year before his A level. He was aspiring to study languages at university and aiming high but having taken his GCSE a year early and in lockdown he lacked confidence and was considerably behind where he needed to be. Alan worked very hard with him and helped to grow his confidence and ability so that he was able to score 89% at A level, just 0.25% off an A*. We were all delighted with this result and my son secured his place to read languages at Bristol. Alan was a great source of advice on ways to develop language skills outside the curriculum and also gave my son valuable insight on how he could use his languages in future careers. He was supportive and communicative at all times and was clearly invested in my son's success. I would recommend him wholeheartedly. Mrs Morrison

Alan is an outstanding German tutor. His deep passion for the language and knowledge of German culture is evident, adding nuance to the subject whilst teaching. His enthusiasm for German is infectious, making every lesson I had engaging and inspiring. He brings complex grammar to life and tailored his approach to help me navigate the more challenging concepts. He not only taught the German required for the syllabus but went above and beyond in supporting me, even exploring different German opportunities as a career. Alan's compassion sets him apart. He is always patient and willing to go the extra mile to help me. No question was too small, and he was genuinely invested in my success, even contacting me after exams and results to ask how they went. His flexibility was equally impressive, accommodating schedules and adjusting lessons to focus on areas where help was most needed. Alan's ability to make learning both fun and accessible has helped me make tremendous progress in German, and I couldn't recommend him more highly. Student -17 years old Ms Cresswell

I just wanted to say once again how grateful we are for your support of Emma and all the kindness that you have shown her. Emma has always looked forward to her lessons with you and found them both fun and engaging. You have made a difference with her approach and confidence to her work and with her overall self-belief. You are a special tutor, and we have been so lucky to have found you. The teenage years are difficult, full of challenges and there is a lot of work involved in A levels. Emma has really valued your input during this part of her life and she is even more focused on her future and determined to find an interesting and fulfilling pathway ahead. Thank you, Frances. Wishing you good health and happiness for 2023. Kind regards Denise. Mrs D Phillips

Francis is a highly productive tutor and got my 12 year-old boy on the right track after tremendous efforts. My son has been learning pretty much within a very short period of time. We hope to come back to him as soon as possible after a break. Mrs Barton

Marion Trowell has been tutoring three of my children, my son who achieved top marks for GCSE, my daughter, who also achieved top grades for her A-level German. At the moment Marion is tutoring my youngest son for German GCSE. Marion is very competent in German, she has a lot of patience and a good sense of humour. I would certainly recommend her for anyone who wants to achieve good grades in exams. Mrs K. Amos

Marion has tutored my eldest daughter for German GCSE and Izzy achieved an A in her exams. My younger daughter and son have also been studying German with Marion and really enjoy her lessons. I would describe Marion as very conscientious and reliable. She is a very patient tutor and provides great tuition. Mrs S. O'connor

Truly an excellent teacher. Both my sons have come on amazingly with their German with Ingrid. She is a kind, warm and caring teacher. Goes above and beyond, and the boys really look forward to their lessons. Danke! Mrs Parry

Hi Phyllis, Just to let you know that Amy got an A * in French with full marks for speaking. So she got her Cambridge place. Thanks so much again for all your help. It gave her so much more confidence having had very few opportunities to speak French. Mrs Armstrong

Thanks so much for your help with German It was her highest mark at A level She's really enjoyed her sessions and there's no doubt it had a huge impact. Mrs Endler

Dalia is a very good teacher. She understands the capacity of the child and based on this, she comes up with a strategy and a tailored approach for the child. My elder daughter was her student for 11+ preparation back in 2020. I am very happy with the way she used to teach her all the subjects. My daughter still talks about her after three years. My younger daughter is her student now and taking lessons for 11+. She knows exactly how to handle each child; she becomes one of them when teaching and ensures they get the maximum from the conversations she will have. Mr Sudrathar

Dalia taught my son for his GCSEs. Her teaching helped him improve his German skills a lot and she was able to fix many of his weak points very efficiently. I can recommend that she is very reliable and a very good teacher. Dr Kumari

Joanne is an excellent German teacher and true enthusiast for the German language, country and culture. We started German tutoring during my son's German GCSE when he wasn't enjoying his lessons at school. He never looked back and ended up getting an A* at German A level. None of this would have happened with Joanne's inspiration, technical competence and engaging approach. Kat Parker

Joanne is a first rate linguist who always does her best for her pupils. She inspires and encourages them. Vince Groom

Mrs. J. Bulloch

Edelgard is a wonderful tutor! She is very friendly and very encouraging, and always doing the most to help me. She has helped my grammar knowledge immensely, and I have watched it soar, and I would recommend her to everyone. I always enjoy our lessons and am very glad I chose her :) Miss L. Palmer

Sandra was my tutor (both in person and online) for around 6 months to help prepare me for my university speaking exams. She was warm, helpful and encouraging. She was not only instructive in correcting my grammar and pronunciation but she also boosted my confidence in speaking, which was my main goal. She was an incredible tutor, who made learning and speaking languages less nerve-wracking and more fun! Miss Isabella Kalisperas

Imogen has been helping my son with German for a good few months. He said Imogen is "amazing" and seems very determined to please her. Imogen is very professional, always well prepared for the lessons and sets high standards without intimidating the student- exactly the kind of tutor I was looking for. My son's aim is to make steady but constant progress and I am really happy she continues to challenge and motivate him. I feel my money is well spent and would strongly recommend her! Mrs C Ichim

On the basis of my experience, Mr. Kramer is a versatile, patient and skillful language teacher, who can use a wide variety of approaches and can thereby engage the interest of each student. (And as a retired educator I have very high standards when it comes to teaching!) I am very happy to recommend Mr. Kramer to anyone as a German teacher. I have no reservations about his suitability to teach students of any age. Mr. Terry Loane

Location
Home Tuition: Involves an A-Level German tutor coming to your home to provide one-on-one instruction. This offers convenience as you don't need to travel. Online Tuition: This can take place anywhere with an internet connection. Small Group Tuition: Typically with between 2 to 4 children, and often occurs in a physical location such as your home, though it can also be online.

Individual Attention
Home Tuition: Offers the highest level of individual attention, as the A-Level German tutor focuses solely on one student. Online Tuition: Still allows for one-to-one attention, but it may be slightly less personal than home tuition due to potential distractions. Small Group Tuition: Offers less individual attention as the A-Level German tutor must divide their time and attention among multiple students.

Cost
Home Tuition: This tends to be more expensive because it involves one-on-one teaching, and the A-Level German tutor is required to travel to your home. Online Tuition: Often more affordable than home tuition as your A-Level German tutor does not need to travel but may still cost more than small group tuition. Small Group Tuition: Generally, this is the most cost-effective option, as the costs are shared among several families.

Flexibility
Home Tuition: Offers flexibility in terms of scheduling and curriculum, as your A-Level German tutor will only be working with your child. Online Tuition: Provides flexibility in terms of location and may offer a wider selection of A-Level German tutors. Small Group Tuition: Lessons will be more difficult to schedule as lesson times will have to fit in with other families.

Interaction
Home Tuition: Offers in-person interaction, which can be beneficial for students who learn better through face-to-face communication. Online Tuition: Provides interaction through video conferencing tools and chat, which can be engaging but may not suit everyone's learning style. Small Group Tuition: Allows for peer interaction, which can benefit collaborative learning and discussions.

The choice between home, online, or small group A-Level German tuition depends on your preferences, budget, and the student's specific educational needs. Each option has advantages and disadvantages, so it's essential to consider these factors when deciding.
